In short
Dify is a visual platform for agentic workflows, chat apps and RAG pipelines with a large plugin marketplace, available as Dify Cloud, as a self-hosted Community Edition under a modified Apache License that bars multi-tenant hosting without permission, or as Dify Enterprise in a VPC, on-prem or air-gapped. Dynamiq is a governed platform for chat, voice and workflow agents with an unrestricted Apache-2.0 SDK, built-in evals and observability, and forward-deployed engineers. Teams that want a fast, community-backed builder for LLM apps and RAG fit Dify; teams that need voice agents, built-in evals, an unrestricted open-source engine or a deployment team fit Dynamiq.

DynamiqYes. Self-hosted on your cloud or on-prem, or Dynamiq Cloud; both run the same engine.
DifyYes. The Community Edition self-hosts with Docker, and Dify Enterprise deploys in your VPC, on-prem or in an air-gapped network.
- License and source code
DynamiqThe Python SDK is open source under Apache-2.0 (github.com/dynamiq-ai/dynamiq), and the visual canvas runs on the same engine. The platform around it is not open source.
DifySource-available under a modified Apache License 2.0: without Dify's written authorization you may not operate a multi-tenant environment (one tenant per workspace), and you may not remove Dify's logo or copyright from the console or apps, per its GitHub license file.
- Model choice
Dynamiq29 model providers in the SDK, the most-used models behind one OpenAI-compatible AI Gateway endpoint, plus open models served on vLLM and LoRA fine-tuning.
DifyHundreds of proprietary and open-source models from dozens of providers and self-hosted solutions, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and any OpenAI-compatible model, installed as plugins from its marketplace.
- Agent types (chat, voice, workflow)
DynamiqChat, inbound voice and workflow agents on one engine. AI Coworker works with its own cloud sandbox computer, in the browser, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram; Voice Agents answer inbound calls; Agent Builder runs workflow agents.
DifyAgentic workflows, chat apps and agents, including agents you build by chatting and agents with their own sandbox. Speech-to-text and text-to-speech are app features, but no voice agent product is described.
- Developer surface
DynamiqAgent Builder pairs a visual canvas with the open-source Python SDK on one engine, with Choice and rules nodes, workflows generated from a prompt, and versions with rollback.
DifyA visual builder with Python or JavaScript code nodes, apps exported as a YAML DSL, the difyctl CLI, and publishing as hosted apps, API endpoints, embeds or MCP servers; Dify also connects to MCP servers as a client.
- Governance (guardrails, approvals, SSO)
DynamiqGuardrails that detect PII and prompt injection, policy detection, validators and approvals with editable fields on any tool step, on every plan; SSO (OIDC with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID) on Enterprise.
DifyA Human Input node pauses workflows for a person's decision, and a moderation extension reviews inputs and outputs; Dify Enterprise adds SSO over SAML or OIDC, SCIM, workflow-level RBAC, audit logs streamed to a SIEM and PII-redacted prompt history.
- Evals and observability
DynamiqEvals with datasets built from traces, LLM-as-a-judge, predefined and code metrics, and real-time evaluations on live deployments; traces with cost and latency per node, monitoring, and an AI agent that surfaces issues from production traces.
DifyLogs, feedback, annotations, latency and token usage in its dashboard, plus tracing through integrations such as LangSmith, Langfuse, Opik, W&B Weave, Arize and Phoenix; no built-in evaluation suite is described on the pages checked.
- Integrations
Dynamiq2,100+ app integrations and 11,800+ actions, plus MCP servers and per-user connections.
DifyA marketplace of model providers, tools, data sources, agent strategies and MCP integrations, with 928 listed plugins in a July 2026 snapshot, per Dify's blog; Knowledge Pipelines turn files, websites and drives into knowledge bases.
- Compliance
DynamiqSOC 2 and CASA Tier 2, with a BAA for HIPAA workloads and a DPA under GDPR.
DifySOC 2 and ISO 27001, with a GDPR badge, per Dify's homepage; HIPAA is not stated on the pages checked.
- Delivery help (engineers)
DynamiqForward-deployed engineers run a bootcamp in your environment, ship the first production agent with your team, then hand over.
DifyDify Enterprise includes a named customer success manager, a shared Slack channel and a one-hour response on severity-one issues; no engineering deployment engagement is described.
- Pricing model
DynamiqFree to start ($0), and Enterprise with custom pricing. Available on AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace and IBM Marketplace.
DifyCloud: a free Sandbox (200 message credits), Professional at $590 per workspace a year, Team at $1,590 per workspace a year, and custom Enterprise; the Community Edition is free to self-host, per Dify's pricing page.
Choose Dynamiq when
- The SDK is open source under Apache-2.0, with no added conditions on how you run it; the platform around it is commercial.
- Voice Agents answer inbound calls on the same engine as chat and workflow agents, with per-turn latency measurement and LLM-judged simulations.
- Built-in evals: datasets from traces, LLM-as-a-judge, predefined and code metrics, and real-time evaluations on live deployments, next to traces with cost and latency per node.
- Forward-deployed engineers ship the first production agent with your team, then hand over. Your team keeps the code and the environment.
Choose Dify when
- A free, self-serve start: a cloud Sandbox and a self-hosted Community Edition for prototyping LLM apps and RAG pipelines quickly.
- A large marketplace of plugins for models, tools, data sources and MCP, and an active open-source community around one product.
- Low-cost cloud tiers for small teams, with a path to Enterprise in a VPC, on-prem or air-gapped.
Moving from Dify
Dify apps and workflows export as a YAML DSL with their orchestration, node settings, prompts and model parameters, which gives a clear blueprint for rebuilding them as agents and workflows in Dynamiq's Agent Builder, on the canvas or in the Python SDK. Tools and MCP integrations reconnect as Dynamiq integrations or MCP servers, and knowledge bases are re-ingested into Dynamiq Knowledge. Third-party tool keys, which the DSL does not export, are reconnected once.
