In short

LangGraph is an MIT licensed, code-first framework and runtime for stateful agents, and LangSmith is LangChain's agent engineering platform around it: observability, evaluation, deployment, the no-code Fleet agent builder, sandboxes, an LLM gateway in beta, and Engine, which finds agent failures and proposes fixes, billed by seats, traces and compute units. Dynamiq is a governed platform for chat, voice and workflow agents with an Apache-2.0 SDK, built-in evals and observability, and forward-deployed engineers. Developers who want maximum low-level control and framework-agnostic observability fit LangGraph and LangSmith; teams that want one platform including voice agents, deployed inside their environment with a delivery team, fit Dynamiq.

Best for

DynamiqEnterprises in regulated industries that need chat, voice and workflow agents on one governed stack, deployed inside their own environment.

LangGraph and LangSmithPython and JavaScript developers who want low-level control over stateful agents (single, multi-agent or hierarchical), with LangSmith for observability, evals and deployment across any framework.

Deployment options

DynamiqDynamiq Cloud, or self-hosted on your AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Red Hat OpenShift or any Kubernetes 1.32+ cluster, or on-prem. Fully isolated or air-gapped setups are delivered with our engineers.

LangGraph and LangSmithLangGraph runs wherever your code runs. LangSmith is a managed cloud with US, EU and APAC regions, with hybrid, bring-your-own-cloud and self-hosted options on its Enterprise plan; a standalone Agent Server needs a license key.

Self-hosted or on-prem

DynamiqYes. Self-hosted on your cloud or on-prem, or Dynamiq Cloud; both run the same engine.

LangGraph and LangSmithYes for the LangGraph library. Self-hosted LangSmith is an add-on to the Enterprise plan, per LangChain's docs.

License and source code

DynamiqThe Python SDK is open source under Apache-2.0 (github.com/dynamiq-ai/dynamiq), and the visual canvas runs on the same engine. The platform around it is not open source.

LangGraph and LangSmithLangGraph, LangChain and the LangSmith SDKs are MIT licensed. The langgraph-api server package is under the Elastic License 2.0, and the LangSmith platform is a commercial product that self-hosts under a license key.

Model choice

Dynamiq29 model providers in the SDK, the most-used models behind one OpenAI-compatible AI Gateway endpoint, plus open models served on vLLM and LoRA fine-tuning.

LangGraph and LangSmithAny provider LangChain integrates with (1,000+ integrations), called in code; LangSmith adds an LLM Gateway, in beta, for one key across providers with fallbacks, cost controls and PII redaction.

Agent types (chat, voice, workflow)

DynamiqChat, inbound voice and workflow agents on one engine. AI Coworker works with its own cloud sandbox computer, in the browser, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram; Voice Agents answer inbound calls; Agent Builder runs workflow agents.

LangGraph and LangSmithA framework for custom agents, plus LangSmith Fleet, a no-code builder for agents used in chat or in tools such as Slack. No packaged voice agent product, though LangChain's docs include a voice agent tutorial.

Developer surface

DynamiqAgent Builder pairs a visual canvas with the open-source Python SDK on one engine, with Choice and rules nodes, workflows generated from a prompt, and versions with rollback.

LangGraph and LangSmithCode-first primitives for agent graphs in Python and JavaScript with native token streaming, LangSmith SDKs in Python, TypeScript, Go and Java, the Studio agent IDE, a CLI, and MCP and A2A endpoints on Agent Server.

Memory

DynamiqSession memory scoped by user and session, plus long-term memory, where the agent decides when to save and recall durable, user-scoped facts that people can see and correct. Knowledge adds ingestion pipelines, permission-aware retrieval filters and knowledge graphs.

LangGraph and LangSmithLangGraph's built-in memory stores conversation histories and keeps context across sessions, per LangChain's site.

Governance (guardrails, approvals, SSO)

DynamiqGuardrails that detect PII and prompt injection, policy detection, validators and approvals with editable fields on any tool step, on every plan; SSO (OIDC with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID) on Enterprise.

LangGraph and LangSmithHuman-in-the-loop checks to steer and approve agent actions, and PII middleware in the framework; LangSmith Enterprise adds SAML SSO, SCIM, RBAC, ABAC and audit logs.

Evals and observability

DynamiqEvals with datasets built from traces, LLM-as-a-judge, predefined and code metrics, and real-time evaluations on live deployments; traces with cost and latency per node, monitoring, and an AI agent that surfaces issues from production traces.

LangGraph and LangSmithLangSmith tracing, offline and online evals, dashboards and alerts, OpenTelemetry support, and Engine, which finds agent failures, diagnoses root causes and proposes fixes with eval coverage.

Compliance

DynamiqSOC 2 and CASA Tier 2, with a BAA for HIPAA workloads and a DPA under GDPR.

LangGraph and LangSmithSOC 2, GDPR and HIPAA, with annual third-party audits and penetration testing, per LangSmith's shared responsibility model.

Delivery help (engineers)

DynamiqForward-deployed engineers run a bootcamp in your environment, ship the first production agent with your team, then hand over.

LangGraph and LangSmithEnterprise support includes team trainings, architectural guidance and access to deployed engineers, per LangChain's pricing page.

Pricing model

DynamiqFree to start ($0), and Enterprise with custom pricing. Available on AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace and IBM Marketplace.

LangGraph and LangSmithLangSmith Developer is free (1 seat, up to 5,000 base traces a month), Plus is $39 a seat a month (up to 10,000 base traces), and Enterprise is custom; extra traces and storage bill in storage units ($1.00 each), and deployments, Fleet, Engine and sandboxes in compute units ($1.50 each). LangGraph itself is free.

Choose Dynamiq when

  • One governed platform for chat, voice and workflow agents, instead of a framework plus a separate platform billed by seats, traces and compute units.
  • Voice Agents answer inbound calls on the same engine as chat and workflow agents, with per-turn latency measurement and LLM-judged simulations.
  • Runs inside your environment: Dynamiq Cloud, or self-hosted on your AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, OpenShift or any Kubernetes 1.32+ cluster, or on-prem, with isolated setups delivered with our engineers.
  • A defined engagement: forward-deployed engineers run a bootcamp in your environment, ship the first production agent with your team, then hand over.

Choose LangGraph and LangSmith when

  • Maximum low-level control over agent orchestration for developers who want to write custom graphs in Python or JavaScript.
  • A very large open-source ecosystem, with 350M+ monthly open-source downloads reported on LangChain's homepage, and observability that works across frameworks, not only LangGraph.
  • A free LangSmith tier to start, with Engine to find failures, Fleet for no-code agents, and hybrid or self-hosted deployment on Enterprise.

Moving from LangGraph and LangSmith

Graphs, nodes and edges built with LangGraph are rebuilt as agents and workflows in Dynamiq's Agent Builder, on the canvas or in the Python SDK, keeping the same prompts, tools and control flow as the blueprint. Tools called from graph nodes reconnect as Dynamiq integrations or MCP servers, LangSmith datasets and evaluators move to Dynamiq evals, and tracing moves to Dynamiq observability. Memory maps to Dynamiq session and long-term memory, and knowledge sources are re-ingested into Dynamiq Knowledge.
