By Vitalii Duk, Founder and CEO Updated

In short

Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is AWS's modular, consumption-priced platform for building, deploying and operating agents: Runtime, Gateway, Memory, Identity, Policy, Evaluations and Observability services that work with any framework and any foundation model, all operated by AWS. Dynamiq is a complete platform for chat, voice and workflow agents, with guardrails, evals and observability, that runs on Dynamiq Cloud, any major cloud or on-prem, with forward-deployed engineers. Teams standardized on AWS that assemble their own agents on a framework such as Strands or LangGraph fit AgentCore; teams that need to run outside AWS, want packaged chat and voice agents, or want a deployment team fit Dynamiq.

Best for

DynamiqEnterprises in regulated industries that need chat, voice and workflow agents on one governed stack, deployed inside their own environment.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreTeams already building on AWS that want managed, serverless services for agents written in any framework, such as Strands, LangGraph, CrewAI or LlamaIndex, with any foundation model.

Deployment options

DynamiqDynamiq Cloud, or self-hosted on your AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Red Hat OpenShift or any Kubernetes 1.32+ cluster, or on-prem. Fully isolated or air-gapped setups are delivered with our engineers.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreAWS only. Runtime runs agents on serverless microVMs, or on Instances: AWS-managed Amazon EC2 capacity in your own AWS account for multi-day sessions and GPU workloads. Available in AWS commercial regions and AWS GovCloud (US-West).

Self-hosted or on-prem

DynamiqYes. Self-hosted on your cloud or on-prem, or Dynamiq Cloud; both run the same engine.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreNo. AgentCore is a set of AWS-managed services, and every compute option it documents runs on AWS. Its Agent Registry, in preview, can catalog agents, MCP servers and skills deployed on AWS, on-prem or another cloud.

License and source code

DynamiqThe Python SDK is open source under Apache-2.0 (github.com/dynamiq-ai/dynamiq), and the visual canvas runs on the same engine. The platform around it is not open source.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreThe managed service is not open source. AWS publishes the AgentCore CLI, a Python SDK and an MCP server on GitHub under Apache 2.0; the older starter toolkit is now marked legacy.

Model choice

Dynamiq29 model providers in the SDK, the most-used models behind one OpenAI-compatible AI Gateway endpoint, plus open models served on vLLM and LoRA fine-tuning.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreAny foundation model in or outside Amazon Bedrock, including OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, Amazon Nova, Meta Llama and Mistral models, per AWS's documentation; Gateway can also route inference requests across model providers.

Agent types (chat, voice, workflow)

DynamiqChat, inbound voice and workflow agents on one engine. AI Coworker works with its own cloud sandbox computer, in the browser, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram; Voice Agents answer inbound calls; Agent Builder runs workflow agents.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreA developer platform rather than packaged agents. Runtime hosts agent code from any framework, including voice agents that stream over WebSocket or WebRTC, and a managed harness runs agents declared as configuration. AWS documents no ready-made chat app or phone-line (PSTN or SIP) product.

Developer surface

DynamiqAgent Builder pairs a visual canvas with the open-source Python SDK on one engine, with Choice and rules nodes, workflows generated from a prompt, and versions with rollback.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreCode-first: the AgentCore CLI and SDK, framework support for Strands, LangGraph, CrewAI and AutoGen, protocols including MCP, A2A and AG-UI, and a harness that can export an agent to Strands code.

Memory

DynamiqSession memory scoped by user and session, plus long-term memory, where the agent decides when to save and recall durable, user-scoped facts that people can see and correct. Knowledge adds ingestion pipelines, permission-aware retrieval filters and knowledge graphs.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreAgentCore Memory, a managed service: short-term memory keeps turn-by-turn context within a session, and long-term memory automatically extracts user preferences, facts and session summaries across sessions.

Governance (guardrails, approvals, SSO)

DynamiqGuardrails that detect PII and prompt injection, policy detection, validators and approvals with editable fields on any tool step, on every plan; SSO (OIDC with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID) on Enterprise.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCorePolicy for Gateway tool calls, written in Cedar or natural language, plus Dogwood for session-aware rules such as requiring that an approval step was recorded earlier in the session; every decision is logged in CloudWatch. Identity works with Amazon Cognito, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Auth0 and other providers.

Evals and observability

DynamiqEvals with datasets built from traces, LLM-as-a-judge, predefined and code metrics, and real-time evaluations on live deployments; traces with cost and latency per node, monitoring, and an AI agent that surfaces issues from production traces.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreAgentCore Evaluations, with built-in and custom evaluators run online, on demand, in batch or against datasets, and Observability dashboards in Amazon CloudWatch with OpenTelemetry-compatible traces. An Optimization feature suggests prompt and tool description changes from traces; its insights are in public preview.

Integrations

Dynamiq2,100+ app integrations and 11,800+ actions, plus MCP servers and per-user connections.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreGateway turns APIs, AWS Lambda functions and existing MCP servers into tools, with one-click integrations for tools such as Salesforce, Slack, Jira, Asana and Zendesk; no total connector count is published.

Compliance

DynamiqSOC 2 and CASA Tier 2, with a BAA for HIPAA workloads and a DPA under GDPR.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreHIPAA eligible, and in scope for SOC, PCI DSS and FedRAMP (Class C, formerly Moderate, and Class D, formerly High, in GovCloud) per AWS's compliance pages; AWS's FAQ also lists ISO 27001, HITRUST, CSA STAR, C5 and other programs.

Delivery help (engineers)

DynamiqForward-deployed engineers run a bootcamp in your environment, ship the first production agent with your team, then hand over.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreNot publicly documented; AgentCore's product page and FAQ describe no professional services or deployment team.

Pricing model

DynamiqFree to start ($0), and Enterprise with custom pricing. Available on AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace and IBM Marketplace.

Amazon Bedrock AgentCoreConsumption-based, with no upfront commitment or minimum fees: per-unit rates for Runtime compute and memory, Gateway invocations, Identity, Memory, Policy, Evaluations and Registry records, and observability billed as Amazon CloudWatch usage. A committed Runtime option is launching by October 2026.

Choose Dynamiq when

  • Runs outside AWS as well as on it: Dynamiq Cloud, or self-hosted on your AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, OpenShift or any Kubernetes 1.32+ cluster, or on-prem, with isolated setups delivered with our engineers.
  • Packaged agents on one engine: AI Coworker with its own cloud sandbox, in the browser, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram, Voice Agents for inbound calls, and Agent Builder, instead of services you assemble into a product.
  • Guardrails, approvals, evals (including real-time evaluations on live deployments) and observability with AI issue discovery are part of the same platform, not separate services to wire together.
  • Forward-deployed engineers ship the first production agent with your team, then hand over. Your team keeps the code and the environment.

Choose Amazon Bedrock AgentCore when

  • Already standardized on AWS and want agent infrastructure billed, secured and operated like the rest of an AWS estate, including in AWS GovCloud (US-West).
  • Consumption pricing with no upfront commitment or minimum fees, so cost tracks the usage of each component, such as Runtime, Gateway or Memory.
  • Freedom to bring any open-source framework and any model to a serverless runtime AWS operates, with multi-day sessions and GPUs on Runtime Instances.

Moving from Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

Agents written in Strands, LangGraph or CrewAI for AgentCore Runtime are rebuilt as agents and workflows in Dynamiq's Agent Builder, on the canvas or in the Python SDK, starting from the same prompts, tool definitions and model choices. Tools exposed through AgentCore Gateway, including Lambda functions and existing MCP servers, reconnect as Dynamiq MCP servers or integrations, and knowledge sources are re-ingested into Dynamiq Knowledge. Cedar policies attached to Gateway become Dynamiq guardrails and approval steps, and AgentCore evaluators move to Dynamiq evals.

Questions and answers
