Voice agent

A real-time conversational agent that talks with people over audio, on a phone call, in a browser, or over a raw audio connection.

A voice agent holds a real-time conversation over audio rather than text, either as a pipeline of separate speech-to-text, language model and text-to-speech stages, or as one realtime speech-to-speech model handling all of it directly. Either way, it has to decide what to say, when to say it, and when to stop talking, inside the fraction of a second a caller will tolerate before a pause starts to feel wrong.

A regulated contact center's phone line carries disclosures, recorded consent, and moments that need a human, and all of it happens live, in a channel that cannot be edited before a caller hears it, unlike a chat message that can be reviewed before it is sent.

An inbound support line where the voice agent verifies an account, answers routine questions, and transfers to a person for anything it should not handle on its own.

In Dynamiq, build a voice agent from written instructions, a choice of 15 voice model vendors across speech-to-text, language model and text-to-speech, or a single realtime model, plus tools and transfer destinations, deployed over phone numbers you already own, a browser client, or a raw WebSocket connection. Voice agents answer inbound calls; they do not place outbound calls, and calls can be recorded, with a transcript and per-turn latency.
