PII detection
PII detection classifies whether a piece of text contains personal data and what kind, a name, an email address, an account number, before that text goes any further. It is a classifier, not an editor: it tells you that personal data is present and what category it falls into, it does not rewrite or remove it.
Regulated data handling rules generally require knowing when personal data is about to enter a prompt, be logged, or cross a boundary, before it happens, not after a review turns it up later.
A support message containing a customer's email and account number is flagged before an agent ever sees it, so the workflow can route to a stricter handling path instead of processing it the same way as any other message.
In Dynamiq, a PII detector node screens a message and reports whether personal data was found and which categories, placed anywhere in a workflow, typically ahead of an agent, with a flagged branch routed to a refusal, a transformation step, or a person for review. Dynamiq detects PII and prompt injection; it does not redact or mask text.
