In short

Flowise froze development on July 29, 2026, archived its GitHub repository on August 13 and reached end of life on August 31, 2026; its Apache 2.0 source still runs, but without fixes. Teams moving off it should look at Langflow, the closest open-source visual builder; Dify, for visual workflows and RAG with a large plugin marketplace; n8n, for automation-first teams; and Dynamiq, a governed platform for chat, voice and workflow agents with an Apache-2.0 SDK and engineers who deploy with you.

Flowise made it easy to sketch chatbots and agents on a visual canvas, and many teams used it for proofs of concept and internal tools. That chapter has closed. On July 29, 2026 the Flowise team announced it was winding down and froze development the same day. The GitHub repository was archived on August 13, and Flowise reached end of life on August 31, 2026, when official core team presence in Discord and GitHub ended.

The Apache 2.0 source stays visible and you can keep running or forking it, but issues and pull requests are locked and npm packages and Docker images are marked deprecated. In practice, every Flowise deployment is now a fixed version that only you maintain. This guide compares the replacements as of September 2026, using each vendor's own pages, listed at the end, and closes with a migration plan.

## What to look for in a Flowise replacement

1. **A maintained project.** The first requirement after an end of life is a vendor or community that ships fixes. Check release notes and support terms, not only features.
2. **Agentic orchestration that scales.** Flowise's Agentflows covered multi-agent patterns; your replacement should cover planning, tools, memory, retries and human approvals just as well.
3. **Knowledge and RAG depth.** Flowise's document stores and loaders need a home: look for ingestion pipelines, permission-aware retrieval and support for the vector stores you already run.
4. **Evaluations and observability.** Offline and live evaluations, traces with per-step latency and cost, and alerts keep quality high after the move.
5. **Deployment and license.** Decide whether you need self-hosting, a private VPC or an isolated network, and read the license: MIT, Apache 2.0, fair-code and modified Apache terms differ in what you may host and resell.

## Top Flowise alternatives

### Langflow

Langflow is the closest match to Flowise's visual, developer-friendly style: an MIT licensed, Python-based builder for agents and RAG applications that can also publish flows as MCP servers and call other MCP servers. It runs as a desktop app, a Python package, a Docker container or a headless runtime on Kubernetes, and it ships frequent releases; recent ones added a Guardrails component, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, built-in traces and OpenTelemetry export. Plan for gaps around built-in evaluations, which are not documented, and enterprise SSO and RBAC enforcement, which are plugins outside open-source Langflow.

### Dify

Dify is a visual platform for agentic workflows, chat apps and agents, with Knowledge Pipelines for RAG and a marketplace of plugins for models, tools, data sources and MCP. Apps publish as web apps, API endpoints, embeds or MCP servers, and Dify Enterprise runs in your VPC, on-prem or air-gapped. Check its modified Apache License, which bars running Dify as a multi-tenant service without written permission, and note that we found no built-in evaluation suite in its docs.

### n8n

n8n is fair-code workflow automation with AI built in: an AI Agent node with tools and sub-agents, n8n Agents in preview since September 2026, a Guardrails node, human approval before an agent runs a chosen tool, and quick and metric-based evaluations. It fits teams whose Flowise flows were mostly automations with an LLM step. Its Sustainable Use License limits use to internal business, non-commercial or personal purposes.

### Zapier

Zapier is the no-code option, connecting 9,000+ apps, with Zapier Agents that draw on knowledge sources, call other agents and pause for approvals, plus chatbots that embed as a widget. It runs only in Zapier's cloud, hosted on AWS in the United States, which rules it out when agents must stay inside your environment.

### Sana

Sana, part of Workday since November 2025, is an AI platform for knowledge work: no-code agents, scheduled workflows, enterprise search across 100+ apps, and Sana Learn. It fits if your Flowise use was an internal knowledge chatbot and the goal is now a company-wide assistant rather than custom agents.

### Microsoft Copilot Studio

Copilot Studio builds agents and workflows for Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot and websites, with OpenAI and Anthropic models, agent evaluations and a Microsoft Entra Agent ID for each agent. It runs only as a Microsoft cloud service, so it suits organizations standardized on Microsoft 365.

### Dynamiq

Dynamiq is a platform for chat, voice and workflow agents, with guardrails, evals and observability on the same engine, deployed in Dynamiq Cloud or inside your own environment. The agent engine is an open-source Python SDK under Apache-2.0; the platform around it is not open source.

- [**Agent Builder**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/agents): a visual canvas and the open-source Python SDK on one engine, with Choice and rules nodes, approvals with editable fields on any tool step, workflows generated from a prompt, and versions with rollback.
- [**AI Coworker**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/chat): an agent with its own cloud sandbox computer (Linux shell, files, browser automation and live web previews), connectors, a skills library, scheduled tasks and subagents, in the browser and in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Telegram.
- [**Voice Agents**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/voice-agents): inbound calls over WebRTC, SIP and WebSocket, with per-turn latency measurement and simulations scored by an LLM judge.
- **Agentic memory**: session memory scoped by user and session, with recent, relevant or both retrieval, and long-term memory where the agent itself decides when to save and recall durable, user-scoped facts through remember and recall tools, updating an existing fact rather than saving a near duplicate.
- [**Knowledge**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/knowledge-rag): ingestion pipelines, permission-aware retrieval filters, knowledge graphs, and document parsing and extraction.
- [**Integrations**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/integrations): 2,100+ app integrations and 11,800+ actions, plus MCP servers and per-user connections.
- [**Models and AI Gateway**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/models): 29 model providers in the SDK and the most-used models behind one OpenAI-compatible AI Gateway endpoint, plus open models served on vLLM and LoRA fine-tuning.
- [**Guardrails and approvals**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/guardrails): detect PII and prompt injection, with policy detection, validators and execution approvals.
- [**Evals**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/evaluations) and [**observability**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/observability): datasets built from traces, LLM-as-a-judge, predefined and code metrics, and real-time evaluations on live deployments; traces with cost and latency per node, monitoring, and an AI agent that surfaces issues from production traces.
- [**Deployment**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/product/deployments): Dynamiq Cloud, or self-hosted on AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Red Hat OpenShift or any Kubernetes cluster, or on-prem, with self-hosting on Enterprise. Fully isolated or air-gapped setups are delivered with our engineers. Available on AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure Marketplace and IBM Marketplace.
- **Security and compliance**: SOC 2, HIPAA and GDPR. Guardrails and approvals come on every plan, and SSO (OIDC with Okta and Microsoft Entra ID) on Enterprise.
- [**Pricing**](https://www.getdynamiq.ai/pricing): free to start ($0), and Enterprise with custom pricing.
- **Forward-deployed engineers**: a bootcamp in your environment, your first production agent shipped with your team, then a handover.

## How to plan the move off Flowise

1. **Inventory what runs.** List every chatflow and agentflow in production, the tools and credentials each one uses, and who depends on it.
2. **Freeze and reference the source.** Keep the archived repository and your exported flows as the reference for behavior; nothing upstream will change under you.
3. **Rebuild the flows.** Recreate chatflows and agentflows as agents and workflows in your new platform, starting with the highest-traffic flow.
4. **Move knowledge.** Re-ingest document stores and vector store data, and decide which users and teams each knowledge source should serve.
5. **Recreate controls.** Human Input steps become approvals; moderation nodes become guardrails; add SSO and role-based access where your new plan offers them.
6. **Evaluate before cutover.** Build a test set from real conversations, score the old and new flows side by side, then switch traffic.

## The bottom line

Flowise was a friendly canvas for prototyping agents and chatflows, and its Apache 2.0 code will keep running where it is installed. For anything new, choose a maintained platform: Langflow or Dify if you want an open-source or source-available builder, n8n if your flows are really automations, and Dynamiq if you need governed chat, voice and workflow agents in your own environment, with engineers who ship the first one with your team.
