# Self-hosted AI platform

An AI platform installed and run inside an organization's own infrastructure, cloud account or data center, not a vendor's shared cloud.

A self-hosted AI platform runs inside infrastructure the customer already owns and operates, their own cloud account or their own data center, rather than a vendor's shared, multi-tenant service. Data does not leave that infrastructure by default, and the customer controls upgrade timing, scaling and exactly what the deployment can reach on the network.

Some regulated workloads cannot go into a shared cloud at all, whatever its certifications, because of a data residency requirement, a confidentiality obligation, or an internal policy that predates any particular vendor. For those workloads, self-hosting is not a preference, it is the only option that clears the bar.

A bank runs the platform inside its own Kubernetes cluster, so every prompt, document and trace stays on infrastructure it already controls, monitors and audits, with no new vendor network path to account for.
